This morning on the way to work, I listened to a radio and heard about a good organization called 'Help Them Call Home' that help recycled old cell phone to prepaid minutes for our troop.I'm sure some of you would rather sell it on ebay to make some money. But I am not good at selling my stuff on eBay and by the time I want to do so my cell phone is too old to sell it anyway. So it ended up in my junk drawer.
This way, I can accomplish several things at once. One is being greener by recycle. Two is to be able to show my appreciation to our troop by helping them to be able to call home with the prepaid minutes. Three is to get rid of my junk. Like they said.. one person junk is another treasure.
So this is what I tackled this Tuesday.

I am one of those who sale them on Ebay. :) but charity is good!
good for you!
There are a bunch of recycling options for these. When I worked at a library, I signed us up for an easy fundraising program. You just stuck the phone in the little mailers we gave out and mailed it. We (the library) got some money for it. This same company did printer cartridge donation too. Your community might have this program or something similar.
What a fantastic idea! hmmm, I wonder where I put all our old cell phones...

LOL You're right. It's in my junk drawer. In fact, I think there are more than one in there. Thanks for the great idea!
