Aloha Friday

This is my first time to join Aloha Friday.

My question for today is 'What is your most memorable vacation trip?'

For me, I have to say that our Disney Cruise trip is one of the memorable trip for me. For one, it's the first time that I cruised. I have heard so much about you can either Love it or Hate it. I'm glad that I loved it. Also we are a huge fan of Disney. We have always vacationed at Disney World way before we have kids. And now that we have kids it's even more of the reason to go there. It's just something in the water there that makes me feel like a kid again whenever I visit there. Going on a Disney Cruise did bring back the same thing. We enjoyed our time chasing after the Characters for the signature or just roaming on the ship. I especially loved the private island there.

So now we are planning another cruise to the Carribean. The reason that we didn't go with Disney again mainly is budget. But I would love to go back again.

I've never been on a cruise - someday! My favorite vacation was last summer, our family vacation to Victoria, BC, Canada. We rented a loved beach house and enjoyed the fun of being in a new place and the beauty of Victoria. Thanks for visiting my AF - my first one, too!

in college and while i was working i travelled a lot, both work/school related or for pleasure, so i could remember quite a few trips. even if the trip is work-related, i always make it a point to have fun so that it will feel like a vacation.

My favorite vacation was my honeymoon. We went to Yosemite National Park. It was so beautiful there!

My most memorable was the year I spent in Denmark. I was working, but me and my husband (then boyfriend) were able to trave to different places and countries.

Good question!

Two years ago my entire family, parents, grandparents, kids, great grandparents, etc., all rented a house in Branson, MO. We had a great time! I don't know if we will ever be able to get everyone together again, so it will be definitely be a vacation I will always remember.

When was it? 1996? 4 (crazy) girls in their 20's took a trip in a rental car, drove from LA to San Fran, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, on the way back from Grand Canyon in the middle of nowhere at night the car died! It was dark, we got scared, we needed to pee!
No one stopped to help, not sure who scared of whom.

Thank god, a very kind family man stopped and helped us. Took us to near by hotel, we got a replacement car the next day.
I bet the one was pretty memorable!

The trip I won to Austria! I took my Mom with me. We visited Salzburg, and Venice, Italy, and Munich, Germany! It was FABULOUS! All glory to God!

My husband and I traveled back East and I found my Paternal Grandfathers grave. Only to be told that his daughter who sill lived up on the hill would know who I am. I never knew she existed for my Mother lied to me and told me that she was dead. When I pulled up the driveway she embraced me and even knew who I was. It was sir realistic. I understand why my mom kept me safe the back hills of Tennessee are full of KKK and very backward prejudices against Indian people. I was given many documents that filled up the voids of understanding. It was a cap stone of my recovery. We went on to see fire flies. They are so cool!
I never kept contact with them. But they were real and it proved out the memories of my childhood.

Oh! A cruise! I want to do that some day. My most memorable vacations have to be the two times we went to Manitoba, Canada. We went first for our honeymoon and then again to the same resort and cabin for our 5-year anniversary. It was so nice to be able to just get away, just the two of us, without the worry of work or cell phones or laundry, and to just have fun! We went hiking, biking, canoing, kayaking, and just lazied around. It was great!

Hi Amy. A Disney Cruise sounds like a wonderful experience.

Our family's recent memorable trip was when we watched the 12th Philippine Hot Air Balloon Fiesta.

Thanks for visiting my blog. You're right, the photo on my blog is a jewelry holder.

Wow, some great experiences described here. I love hearing about people's vacations. My most memorable vacation was the one I blogged about on my Aloha Friday post: 5 months in Mexico and Guatemala solo.

More specifically the best part of it was being in Oaxaca for Day of the Dead. It's on the 1 November if I remember correctly and it's a Pagan/Catholic celebration for everyone's departed. There is a massive parade with costumes, musicians and dancing, and then everyone goes to the cemetary to light a candle for their dead. People also have parties at grave yards to honour their dead. They talk and cry and toast their loved ones with big picnic feasts. And they also build altars with marigolds and photos and offerings of all the deceased's favorite things, including food and drink.

Day of the Dead is like nothign I have ever seen before and I shared the experience with a traveling friend and her 5 year old and it was great seeing all this through a child's eyes. She loved it; thought it was a big party.

Cheers
Kelly

PS. Amy, also thanks for coming to my blog. I love it when people talk to me!

It would have to be our Disneyland trip last year. Everything went perfectly - the kids even fell asleep on the flight! Yay!
