I have lived in Thailand for over half my life but I haven't visited my neighboring country Cambodia yet. And now I live half way around the world and I'm dreaming of visiting Angkor Wat lately. My brother and my mom were there a couple years ago. They took advantage of the low airfare and went there on a whim. The trip was probably one of many spontaneous my wanderlust brothers have done over the year. The pictures are breathtaking. I can help but envy their experience.
Now if anyone has any great accommodation, please feel free to share.
This post is part of Monday are for Dreaming at The Mother of All Trips.

Wow - I love these pictures. You've definitely picked a spot that's on my dreaming list too. Do you know of any bloggers who've written about going there with kids?
Hi Mara,
I'm trying to find one. I will start gathering information and let you know. Please do share if you know any. It will be in Summer 2010. So I still have sometimes to find out.
BTW, love your Monday Dreaming this week. I wish we can do extended traveling like that. Maybe one day. ;)

Wow--what a beautiful scene!
Wow. I can see why you're envious. I hope you get a chance to go.
"Food and Asian people goes together like chopsticks."- So true!
"We live to eat. We love to eat and we travel to eat." So, so true about Asian people!!
I'm just dreaming of visiting Angkor Wat. How long is the flight from Bangkok? Is it cheap to go here from Bangkok?
We were there in 2004 and already it had been over run with tourists. I can't imagine what it is like now. If you hire a tuk tuk to take you around you can stay one step ahead of the tour groups. We learned the hard way, to start farther out and work our way back. Going the opposite direction of what all the tours are doing. Sunrise at the main Angkor Temple was overcrowded and not needed. Stay on the road and get that famous shot across the moat; much Better. sunset on Bakhen Hill was nice too. It is beautiful. I mention it in my favorite ruins post. Cheers.

The relics, the culture, and those oh so fabulous monuments that display fine architecture and great craftsmanship through and through, are the things I want to see with my own eyes when I visit Angkor Wat. The pics are fabulous. Since high school, Angkor Wat has been included in my must visit places.
I haven't really traveled abroad except to Hong Kong when I was young. Angkor Wat is still the place I want to visit should I get the opportunity to do so. It always looks good on pictures.
You can also try visiting the Philippines' various tourist spots. Check out wonderful images of those destinations on my web blog.
